Ar. Hitesh Modi, Founding Partner

Travelling through the length & breadth of the country and having settled at multiples places during his formative years, ignited interest in him to observe, understand and analyse the Art & Architecture of diverse conditions in different places of India. After his graduation from the MS University of Baroda and during his practise of last 23 years, his prowess to observe and analyse has translated into several award winning and numerous thoughfully designed spaces & structures. He believes that sharing of information and transfer of knowledge play a tremendous role in the development of a society and his profession in specific. Thus through his active association with the IIA , IIID, VMSS & KAA, he has been able to successfully transform how the parts of the city look today.

Ar. Amit Srivastava, Founding Partner

The Architect has a considerable experience in the field of Architecture & Public Works through his travels pan India & abroad.

Under the able leadership of present Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, he was the first Architect in Gujarat to introduce E-Governance in the state of Gujarat. He also enjoys the privilege of having designed five eminent projects, in the field of Architecture, to be inaugrated by the present Prime Minister, in his capacity as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Being a very socially active Architect, concerned about the environment and surroundings, he was the founding member of the 'Vadodara Initiative', a local body of eminent citizens of Vadodara associated with the development of the Sanskari Nagari of Gujarat.

Having vastly contributed to the skyline of the city, as it looks today, the Architect still seeks to bring freshness to our urban environment through various thoghtful analogies in Architecture that are designed for future, but inspired from past.

Ar. Neha Modi, Senior Associate Architect

Neha Modi is an architect from Vadodara, Gujarat. Upon completion of her bachelor of architecture from M.S. University in 1992, she interned in Pune and later on along with her husband, Ar. Hitesh Modi and colleague Ar. Amit Srivastava started her practice in Vadodara— Modi Srivastava and Associates.

She is an Executive Committee member of IIID vadodara chapter.
Besides architecture, she possesses keen interest in music and has been trained under “Akhil Bhartiya Ghandarva Mahavidhyalaya Mandal” for Indian classical music.
She is also a painter, who sharply observes her surroundings and then translates it into art— Be it the chaos in the Indian railways, or the local vendors selling fruit.

Her inclination towards music and art reflects immensely in her designs. Her sensitivity to nature and her surroundings, aid her in delivering contemporary, innovative and timeless design solutions.

She believes sticking to a natural and earthy material palette. The space she designs has reflections and essence of the area that it is located in. Her knowledge in the field of furniture prompts her to employ local artisans to create custom made pieces for clients. Complementing nature, she takes inspiration from history and sustainable technologies. The belief is that the most complex and beautiful solutions are often, if not always, the simplest ones.

Travelling in and across India, has influenced her practice diversely. She is of the opinion that as humans, we possess an extraordinary virtue of seeing, experiencing and learning from it.

She considers herself fortunate to have travelled to aesthetic regions like ‘shantiniketan’ the nerve centre of Bengal’s culture and arts,Pondicherry, where she got hands-on experiences while working with bamboo and pottery. For, she believes in going deep into the art and craft of the field of design. Her precision and perfectionism is reflected through this.

Apart from India, her foreign trips have also complemented her philosophies. She is fond of travelling as a local, tasting the true-blue taste of the country over visiting it superficially. Exploring Europe, she studied the incredible diversity of culture, vernacular architecture and crafts.

Visiting Athens, Greece she recalls the “panathenaic stadium” one of greatest stadiums ever made in history. The white horseshoe stadium stands triumphantly under the shadow of the Acropolis and remains the world’s only arena made completely from marble. Such projects inspire her which remain timeless because of the material and simplicity that they have been built with.

Besides designing spaces, she considers designing experiences. Each town that she has travelled has distinctively inculcated a unique experience in her, and a similar idea she frames in her projects.

The basic intention while designing a bungalow or an apartment is creating a dialogue between the user and the environment that has to be built. Understanding the client’s needs and catering to it with sustainable and enduring design solutions. Understanding the long-term aspect and trying to imagine 20 years down the line, what will define that space and experience, rather than only considering the short-term needs.

She considers, that an architect should be conscious of the space.
It is vital to understand the site, observe the soil, climate and the local resources available. To be considerate of the cultural context of the area and do justice to it.
